"Acme Day" Explained. 8:04 pm EST
My buddy Matthew Hunter from the marvelous Matthew Hunter's WB Page sent me in an explanation for Cartoon Network's "ACME DAY".
According to the ads I've seen on CN, it's very much like an all-day "ACME HOUR" program. Clips on the ads included scenes from the cartoons of Warner Bros., MGM and Fleischer/Famous, including such stars as Wile E. Coyote, Popeye and Tom and Jerry. The Acme slogan they've been using in these ads is: "Products that work!...In theory."

"Little Go Beep" to be shown!! 9:04 pm EST
On April 3rd of 1999, I reported on a new Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote short called "LITTLE GO BEEP". It was to be tied to the characters' fiftieth anniversary and chronicled their first meeting. Well, here's the latest news on this film direct from Jon Cooke's Warner Bros. Cartoon Info. Page:
The news is that "Little Go Beep" is being released, just NOT how we would like it! "Little Go Beep" will be shown at the 33rd Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival which is being held in Houston from April 7th-16th. The new RR toon is one of four finalists selected from a field of more than 60 entries, to compete in the Short Subject--Animated (Cel Animation) category. "Little Go Beep" was directed by Spike Brandt, written by Earl Kress and produced by Spike Brandt and Kathleen Helppie-Shipley for Warner Bros. Classic Animation. Here's the synopsis of the plot:
The theatrical short introduces Wile E. Coyote's proud father, Cage E. Coyote, a champion hunter (voiced by the legendary Stan Freberg), who decides that it's time to pass the torch to his offspring - even if he is still in diapers! Wile E. is then sent out into the world to catch the most prized animal of all, the Road Runner - thus beginning a lifelong obsession!
