New Looney Tunes - The Collectors Edition
As reported on Jon Cooke's LT site, on Dec. 16th, Jerry Beck announced that
he was compiling a series of video tapes for Columbia House called "Looney Tunes - The Collectors Edition". Each tape will contain 15
cartoons from the post-1948 Warner library, and black and white Bosko-Buddy-Porky Looney Tune library they own. These tapes will begin to
be available in April 1999 and a new tape will be shipped to subscribers each month.
He is planning black & white Bosko, Buddy and Beans, plus wartime, and other rarities -- BUT he stresses that this is brand
new news and is just starting his discussions with Columbia House. He does note that "In theory, if all goes well, this series
could include ALL Warner Brothers cartoons. I am stressing, uncut pristine prints and I want to use as many titles as I can that
have never been released to tape or disc before. Obviously, I must use the classics (WHAT'S OPERA DOC, DUCK
DODGERS, etc.). Trust me, as soon as details are finalized, you will be first to know. I will have more news SOON!".
